Welcome to our new blog! It’s nearly been two years since we started this wonderful project called Emerge Studio, and since day one we have been meaning to get a blog going. As a small team, it’s taken us a minute to get started; however, we’re glad to say that we are finally getting this project off the ground. We envision this blog’s audience as being folks that are excited about learning as much as they can about web design and development and online entrepreneurship, as well as our many great clients and anyone else interested in what we are doing and sharing.
As such, we intend to focus this blog primarily on articles about how to do what we do. It may seem to be a bit self-defeating to do such a thing. Why, some might ask, would we want to threaten our livelihood by teaching others to do what we do? Well, the fact is, we simply don’t see things that way. All of us here at Emerge began our design and development paths as do-it-yourselfers. We spent many years scouring the web for tips and advice on building websites and web applications. It was a blast then, and it remains one today. Throughout all of it, we’ve relied heavily on information shared freely by others, and as far as we are concerned, it is only right that we do the same. We don’t think this threatens our business at all. Those amazing people that come to us for their websites do so for a reason and we are confident that they will continue to do so as long as we continue to do our jobs well.
We look forward to doing our part in sharing information on all the facets of web design, small business development and to keeping ourselves and others up to date with news about the field and the continual struggle to maintain a free and open Internet. And of course, we intend to brag often about the great projects and people we have the honor of working with.
It is an exciting time to be a web designer and putting out this blog is a fun way to embrace to possibilities of the moment and share them with our fellow designers everywhere!
